Frequently Asked Questions 

Q. What services does Boundaries and Beyond offer?

A. Boundaries and Beyond offers workshops and classes on navigating the workplace, healthy relationships, and sex education for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD). Our goal is to empower participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate relationships, workplace conduct, and personal safety.

We also offer training for disability support professionals, parents, and guardians. These trainings help support healthy relationships and healthy sexuality for people with I/DD. Our provider trainings count towards professional development and continuing education.

In the future, we plan to host social events to provide a safe environment to practice relationship skills.

Q. How long are workshops and classes?

A. Each class or workshop is between 2-3 hours.

Q. Is there a cost to attend a class or workshop?

A. If the participant receives services from ODDS (has a personal agent or service coordinator), we can bill Medicaid. If the person is not receiving ODDS services, participants can use personal pay. On average, the cost is $50/hour/person. We are happy to work with groups and organizations to provide discounted group rates.

Q. How are the classes and workshops delivered?

A. All programming can be delivered virtually or in-person. In-person classes will be delivered in a community location within Washington, Multnomah, and Clackamas Counties. Example locations include community colleges, libraries, and community centers.

Q. How do I sign up for classes, workshops, or trainings?

A. Visit our programs page to sign up.

Q. Do you offer classes, training, and workshops outside of Oregon?

A. Yes! We are happy to provide virtual programming nationwide.

Q. How can I support Boundaries and Beyond?

A. As a newer organization we welcome support from the community. We would love to collaborate with community members and organizations.

Medicaid FAQ's

Medicaid Eligible Workshops and Classes

Q. Who is eligible to bill Medicaid for a workshop?

A. Adults and older teens with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities that receive services from ODDS. Participants that have a personal agent or service coordinator receive ODDS services.

 

Q. How do we bill Medicaid?

A. Your personal agent or service coordinator will help you to modify your ISP to include the workshop or classes. We can help service coordinators and personal agents with this.

Q. Is this billed under the "community" or "facility" code? 

A. Boundaries and Beyond workshops and classes are billed under the "community" code.

Q. How do I get started with the process?

A. First sign up for classes online. Then contact your personal agent or service coordinator to let her know we need to modify the ISP. The provider will handle the billing process after that. ​

​

Q. What is required for Medicaid billing?

A. The workshop must be listed in the participant's ISP, attendance records or service notes must be maintained, and billing code requirements must be followed.

Q. Who is responsible for billing?

A. Medicaid providers will handle billing using their standard process once the class or workshop is added to the participant's ISP.

Q. Can Boundaries and Beyond help with billing Medicaid?

A. Yes, we can work with your Medicaid provider (personal agent, case manager, or service coordinator). We do not bill directly. 

​

Q. Can non-Medicaid participants attend?

A. All adults and older teens are welcome in our classes and workshops. If you are not able to bill Medicaid, you can pay “out of pocket”. Generally workshops and classes cost about $50/hour for each participant. *Group discounts may apply.

ISP Requirements

Individual Support Plans (ISP) are needed to receive classes and workshops through Medicaid.

Include why the service is needed.

The ISP needs to say that the participant needs support to learn about safe and healthy relationships, setting boundaries, and staying safe.

 

Include the goal. 

It should connect the class to something the participant wants. Examples are: making friends safely, feeling confident saying “no,” or knowing how to report unsafe situations.

Include the service.

The ISP must list Boundaries & Beyond as the program/provider.​

​

​​​Include how when and often.

The plan should show how often they’ll attend. For example: once a week for 12 weeks or one individual workshop each month.

​

For providers:

Bill under “Employment Path Community” or “Day Support Activities”.
The eXPRS Provider ID is 119617147 (Aspire Workforce).​

​

Example 

Participant will attend Boundaries &Beyond once a week to learn about safe decision making, setting boundaries, and recognizing unsafe situations. This supports their goal of having safe, healthy relationships.​
